We have stayed at several other properties on Gwithian Towans, and while all share the fabulous location, few others have the all-round excellence and comfort of ‘Pool’. Louise’s chalet – probably ‘cottage’ is a fairer description – has state of the art equipment, from the Blaupunkt TV, the AEG cooker, self-heating shower system, hot water and heating that work, Panasonic microwave, right down to the Bosch kettle. The beds are comfortable, the decor’s tasteful, and the nick-nacks are fascinating. There are dozens of DVDs and books for a rainy day, and a terrific music system. Nothing has been overlooked in the equipment, from a bottle opener to a sewing kit! Not only that, the view from the back patio is one of the best on the Towans, looking straight across at the ever-fascinating Godrevy lighthouse. Sitting there over dinner with the sun going down, is one of those lasting memories. There’s only one tiny drawback, and that’s the state of the road once you get round the corner past the Jam Pot cafe. We have an 18-months old CR-V and that only just coped with the roller-coaster ride of the last 100 metres. If your vehicle can cope with that, then you will find your stay at ‘Pool’ will be simply the best! As you might have guessed by now, highly recommended. Despite the bumpy ride, we will definitely be back – thanks Louise, and congratulations on the way you have decorated and equipped the property!
